I’m Sorry….

“I’m sorry.”

Two little words that hold the capacity to allow healing and rising of self and others.  Words that might not ever be heard from the source of the wound, but will be heard from the source of divine love and light.  Words that most likely will be heard from fellow travelers if we have the courage to share our stories.  Words that must also be heard from Self.  They’re just words, but oh the power that they hold.  But what do they truly mean?

Pain and suffering have run rampant throughout our existence on every level of society.  Fear controls and dictates every move that we make, and hatred and power are the byproducts in an ever separated humanity.  It’s a never ending cycle that plays out in each person’s story line.  Running through our lives causing waves of destruction attempting to rid ourselves of this darkness that we refuse to face or are even aware exists within us.  Not one of us is innocent in this process.  How many of us have consciously or unconsciously passed on our even slightest dislike for a different race, gender, sexual orientation, class, opinion or religion?  How many of us have passed on our terrified views of humanity to the next generation?  How many of us have emotionally destroyed other human beings in an attempt to feel better about ourselves?  To get a promotion?  To “protect” ourselves and loved ones?  How many of us have turned a blind eye to the suffering of another?  Sought power by stealing from another in brutal attacks?

A perpetual cycle of trauma, fear, and reaction of generation after generation has escalated to monstrous levels.  A never ending quest for power, security, separation, status ,and safety, all in vein attempts to achieve what we don’t even realize we are after.  Love and peace.  Isn’t that all that we really want?  Unconditional Love and uninterrupted peace?  When will the cycle end?  No single one of us can stop the onslaught of humanity’s suffering.  But we can create an environment for divine healing and guidance to move towards love and light.

When I say I’m sorry, what I mean is, when I was a source of trauma, I acknowledge the pain and suffering that I caused and I take full responsibility for my actions.  I feel what my actions made you feel and I want my actions to cause your being to experience love and peace instead.  I will take whatever steps must be taken to rectify what I have done.  When I was the victim of trauma, I acknowledge what actions of mine brought me to this space, and I take full responsibility for each one.  I set an intention of utilizing this experience as a catalyst for growth towards my higher self and rising in love and light with wisdom gained.  These are important steps towards lighting up our darkness and wrapping it in our unconditional love.

However, what we experience on an even deeper level is the pain and suffering passed on from generations long gone.  Or trauma experienced in situations beyond our control or responsibility.  The child who survived abuse at the hands of a loved one.  The race or gender that experienced oppression and violence for centuries.  The deep roots of destruction to humanity as a one that can no longer be rectified by the source itself.  The escalation from the beginning of our existence is not something that can be mended easily.  We could sit and point fingers, shifting blame here and there.  But there’s no healing in that game.  So let me begin by saying, I’m sorry….

I’m sorry for all of it.  From the beginning of mankind, to the present moment.  I acknowledge all of it.  The pain, the suffering, the trauma, and the oppression.  The hatred, the disgust, the abuse, and the forced powerlessness.  The torture, the control, the fear, the manipulation, the dishonesty,  and the withholding of your basic human rights and resources.  And for every last life taken by the hand of the darkness.  It was real, and not one of us are crazy.  These experiences did, and continue to, take place and they leave their mark on humanity.  I make space for you to feel every last emotion that you feel.  I send you unconditional love while you heal.  We will grieve together, we will love together, we will heal and learn together.  Then we will rise.  We will rise together towards oneness and unity.  Towards unconditional love for all, and oneness.  We will drown the darkness in our radiating light and we just might finally find peace.

So please sit, and tell me all about it.  And if you can’t think of the words, we will be still and silent, and just allow love to enter our space.

Always sending shockwaves of love your way,

Kim Oliphant-Truett
